The large tree in the centre of the garden is a Robinia Pseudoacacia, which is a native of
the USA. It is a very stately tree, with attractive trailing white flowers.
The downside is that it sends suckers up all over the lawn in July. When they are just a few
inches high, they can be mown easily but if they get established they become very tough and are also covered in vicious
spikes.
